This is one of my favorite threads over on gg.org so I thought I’d bring it over.

The idea is pretty simple, sometimes you find yourself having an opinion that seems to be very unpopular in the fandom community (ex. maybe everyone loves the Sam/Todd ship and you just don’t see it).  This is the place to go ahead and state it, anything relating to Samantha Who?; popular characters, ships, storylines, anything goes.  It might take a while for this to really get going since the series is so new, but feel free to state anything you feel is an unpopular opinion.

Just a couple quick rules, nothing too horrible I promise Wink

  • Anyone is welcome to state what they feel is an unpopular opinion.  A lot of times you’ll find that more people share the opinion, it just takes one person to stand up and say it
  • No one can attack anyone else for stating their opinion as it is expected that not everyone will agree.  This will be a safe place to get those out without worrying about any negative ramifications.  I would even recommend staying away from a lot of debate/discussion because that can go bad quickly
  • When reading this thread you will find people that have opinions you completely disagree with.  That’s fine, that’s why it’s unpopular, keep your disagreement to yourself  Kiss
  • Please don’t negative Karma anyone for stating their opinion in this thread.  I’m not sure exactly how the Karma will work but I imagine we will have the ability to take the Karma down a notch for other posters.  In this thread, it defeats the purpose.  Of course it’s impossible to know for sure but please be polite and try not to do that to people

And that’s about it. If I think of anything else I’ll add it later.

I’ll start.

I think I’m starting to like Andrea!  Shocked I hated the character in the first episode but she’s growing on me, she just doesn’t know any better sometimes (even though I know she should).

Well see there you go already stating something that I agree with completely Lauren.  I love Andrea's character and yet I know most people don't.  If you read a lot of the SW news going around, she is proving to be the character that everybody loves to bash.

Thing is, I love her.  Sure she's not the nicest, and she can be harsh in her assessments of others, but that's what works well for this show and that is also very fun to me.  I often tend to love the caustic personalities in TV shows though....I find them very interesting.

I think I might have one ... I really dislike how Sam's parents talk slowly and loudly to her.  It drives me crazy and I barely thought it was funny the first time.  Maybe it stems from people thinking if you don't know a language this is how uneducated people try to communicate with them, and that makes me mad, having worked w/ 2nd language learners.

That’s definitely one, I saw lots of comments that people loved that.

My unpopular opinion today is that I’m not sold on loving Sam/Todd.  I like learning about their past and I do think it’s cute that they’re sort of getting to know each other again, but I don’t necessarily think they’d be great together moving forward.  Todd’s wounds are still so fresh and can easily be opened again, as we saw at the wedding.  With Sam trying to move forward and change she’s bound to still fall back a step once in a while and he’s too susceptible to being hurt by that, he could jump to undeserved conclusions very easily.  Also with her trying to change she doesn’t need the burden of him being hurt every other minute (not that it would definitely happen but it could) whether him feeling that way would be valid or not depending on the circumstance.

i try to find a thing about Sam I am that i didn't like or form an opinion of a story i didn't think will work but honestly i love everything about the show and all ther actors parts in the show... i guess my only unpopular opinion i guess was the first show when they covered too much information about Sam and covered it all in one day... but the show worked around it and it even got better the next two weeks

OK 205, here we go again!  This show is no Gilmore Girls.  I think it is OK but not quite deserving of its own site yet.  I can't stand the best friend, not Sookie, the other one.  No, I don't know any of their names yet.  That is actually normal for me!  I think the writing needs to be brought up about three notches.  I don't find myself overly entertained nor do I laugh out loud. I keep trying to give it a chance but my interest is starting to waver.  Let's face it, I am waiting for the new show by Amy in the spring.  Now that will be worthy of a site!  Was that too unpopular?! Huh? :Smiley Shocked
